Sleb look-e-likes

Every week Mr O & I go to a local arts centre and play celebrity look-e-likes. It's not the reason why we go there, but it passes the time.

As well as having Simon Cowell, James Nesbitt, Justin Lee-Collins and Cerys Matthews on the payroll there's always plenty of other famous faces to spot.

This week's:

Leslie (the one in the leopard print dressing gown) from the most recent Big Brother
A very young Robert Powell
John Burton-Race celebrity chef
Alex (Sibley?) from a few Big Brothers ago (there was also a picture of him in the lifts in Dan Evans)
Dexter the serial killer
Johnny Vegas in character as Moz in IDEAL
Bill Oddie
The Kirsty half of Kirsty & Phil from Location, Location, Location
Where's Wally (sans stripy hat and jumper)
Joni Mitchell
Yoko Ono
Art Garfunkell
Ross from Friends/Randy from My Name is Earl or (as Mr O would have it) George Michael/George Best
Woody Allen (last week's Sean Locke)
Spike Milligan
Barry Manilow
A fat old Hitler
Quentin Tarentino
Shrek
One half of the bad guys from Home Alone that isn't Joe Pesci

More next week...

Islands within Islands

This is so mind-blowing that I had to draw a diagram to try and understand it.

Manitoulin Island, in the middle of Lake Huron in Canada, in turn contains Lake Manitou - the largest lake on an island in a lake in the world. But Vulcan Point in the Philippines goes one better: it sits inside Crater Lake, on Vulcano Island in Lake Taal, on the island of Luzon, making it the largest island in a lake on an island in a lake on an island in the world.

Cute Overload! :)

Cute Overload! :)

I love cute overload. I can't get enough of it. You'll know when I'm on there because you'll hear me 'awwwing' at every adorable clip and picture. Cute overload is good for the soul.

Image change

Shameless (see last 'post') has been and gone ages ago. It's not the same without Kev & Veronica and barking mad Sheila. Frank didn't have as many rambling monologues like he used to. It was still funny and I loved the psycho family squatting next door. I think they may stop at the 4th series though - the clue being the Take That song and dance number at the end. Its ending was in complete contrast to the 1st series, which was refreshingly hyper-realistic (I lived on, what is widely considered as, a 'rough' Council estate for 10 years, so I have first hand knowledge of the environment it was portraying). I'll miss it, but I think it's time to bow out and for Channel4 to comission something new & exciting, or bring back Teachers.

I thought it was time for an image change on my blog. Not bad, but Blogger should give you a wider choice of templates, because I'm still not entirely happy with it. I will also endevour to update my blog more often, it was full of tumbleweed when I checked in today.

Time to leave the computer for now, because the headache monster is beckoning and looking at a screen for too long makes him angry.

Lazy

The trouble with long holidays is that they make you lazy. My body-clock is now reset to 'student'.

How pleased am I?

I finally have my canon S3 IS.

It was delivered to my neighbours' house yesterday by Parcelfarce. My neighbours 'forgot' to bring the package round and Parcelfarce didn't leave a card to say where they'd left it.

Now I have it, I have to work out how to use it to it's full potential.

This is one of the first images. Taken from one side of the living of the picture on the wall. Pretty impressive zoom I'll think you'll agree.

Hmm. Can I get up early enough tomorrow so I can take some pictures before work?

Eerie, Indiana. Remembered

"To whom it may concern. If you're reading this document, it means I'm either dead - or disappeared under mysterious circumstances. My name is Marshall Teller. Not long ago I was living in New Jersey just across the river from New York City. It was crowded, polluted, and full of crime. I loved it. But my parents wanted a better life for my sister and me - so we moved to a place so wholesome, so squeaky clean, you could only find it on TV. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. Sure, my new home town *looks* normal enough, but look again. What's wrong with this picture? The American dream come true, right? Wrong. Nobody believes me, but this is the center of weirdness for the entire planet. Eerie, Indiana. My home sweet home. Still don't believe me? You will."

Eh?

Don't know what's happened to my last post. The picture has turned from C3P0 with extra hardware to a big green rude face! Perhaps I've offended somebody.
